WEST HAVEN, Conn. Sharon D. Miller Jackson, age 51, of West Haven, Conn., died Dec. 23, 2008, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 1 p.m. today at New Home Baptist Church in Gordo with Rev. Wayne Davis officiating and Lavender's Funeral Service directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven, Conn.Sharon Miller Jackson was born November 13, 1957, in Gordo, Alabama to Robert E. and Ida M. Miller. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life. Upon moving to New Haven, Connecticut, Sharon joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Gerald Hampton.Sharon Miller Jackson was a God-fearing and loving woman. During the last several years of her life she faithfully attended St. Matthew's Unison Free Will Baptist Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Mrs. Jackson was a very loving and caring person who displayed her love for God through helping others and the work she did in her church. Sharon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.Sharon was united in Holy Matrimony to William J. Jackson (Bill) on September 3, 1995, until God called her home to her special place in heaven.Sharon was preceded in death by one beloved brother, Harvey Lewis Washington.Survivors include her husband, William J. Jackson of West Haven, Conn.; son, Henosha L. Miller of New Haven, Conn.; grandson, Kashawn Miller of Camden, Conn.; six sisters, Annie Ruth Washington, Betty Sue Lott (Tommy), Cassandra Cooper (Paul), and Angela E. Cotton, all of Tuscaloosa, Brenda Alexander (Keith) of Chicago, Ill., and Annie L. Hood of St. Louis, Mo.; seven brothers, Larry Owens of Luverne, Ala., Rodney E. Miller of Chicago, Ill., Danny E. Miller (Carol) and Jimmy Hardy (Brenda) of Gordo, Milton Jerome Miller (Jessica) of Midwest City, Okla., Robert E. Griffin of Tuscaloosa, and Johnny Wily of Reform; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
