COVINGTON, LA. - Sarah Janet Pollock Wyman-Mack, 87, died Feb. 24, 2009, in Covington, La. She was born July 12, 1921, in Providence, R.I. to Kenneth and Ethel Pollock. She graduated from Wilton High School and Keene Teachers College, Keene, N.H., in 1943. She married Dr. Frederick L. Wyman in June 1947. He died June 1977. She taught in the Rutland public school system. She retired at age 62 in 1983. In 1983, she married James Mack and relocated to Franklin, N.C. She resided there after his death in 1984. Her charitable and community service activities include the Vermont Right to Read Program; fundraisers for the Shriner's Children's Hospital via Ladies Shrine -AIROC Court of Rutland (High Priestess in 1955) plus chorus; and Sunday school teacher, religious pageant director, and trustee of the Rutland Unitarian Church. Sarah is survived by her four children, Robert H. Wyman of New Orleans, La.; James K. Wyman of Wolfeboro, N.H.; Jessanne Wyman of Essex Junction; and Judith Wyman of Covington, La., three of her four siblings, Wendell, Robert, and Loretta Pollock plus four nephews and five nieces, her seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Pollock. A Celebration of Life / Memorial Service and reception was held at The Windsor on Feb. 28. The eulogy was given by David Ord. Interment will take place this summer in Keene, N.H., date and time to be announced.
