ENGLEWOOD - Sarah Ruffin Henderson, 89, of Englewood, formerly of Trenton, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hopewell, Mrs. Henderson attended Princeton High School and Rider College. She was the assistant director for the Ewing Neighborhood Center and was a realtor for Hundley Realty. She was a member of the Englewood Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her late husband,the Rev. Dr. Hiawatha Henderson. Mother Henderson served as District Missionary and President of the Women's Department for the State of New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husbands, Harry Ruffin and the Rev. Dr. Hiawatha Henderson, a son, Ricky, a daughter, Harriett, two brothers, Walter and Dallas Staton and one sister, Mary Horsey. Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Ruffin-Gonsalves; one granddaughter, Brooke Gonsalves; two nieces, Cordelia Station and Delores Murray; one nephew, Walter Staton Jr., other relatives and friends.Funeral services will Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, 1217 Calhoun St., Trenton. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
