GIBSON, SARAH LYNN, 51 of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. Having grown up in Louisville, Sally attended Western Kentucky University where she met her husband and subsequently traveled around the United States during a 20-year career as a US Navy wife. She was preceded in death by her father, Jouett Todd Brown. Sally is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Wesley J. Gibson; mother, Brigid Walker; stepmother, Renee Brown; sisters, Brigid Brown, Margaret "Peggy" Carrasquillo and Judith "Judy" Britt; brother, Charles Todd Brown; stepsister, Amy Hiler; nieces, Katie Dawson, Megan Dae Brown and Brigid-ann Britt; and nephews, Randall Carrasquillo and Andrew Britt. A celebration of her life will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Dr. in Middletown, KY with visitation there from 2 p.m. until time of ceremony.
