LEITCHFIELD - LEE, SARAH HAGAN, 98, died November 17, 2010. She was married to Roy M. Lee, who preceded her in death. Born in Hardin County, near Elizabethtown, Sarah was the last surviving sibling of 10 children of Joe and Lou Vira Hagan. She has two children, Joyce Godfrey, married to Dr Bill Godfrey, Elizabethtown, and Dr Joe Lee, married to Nadyne Shutrump Lee, who lives in Leitchfield. She was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Joyce and Bill have seven children, Dr. Chris Godfrey (Shellee), Elizabethtown, Bill Godfrey (Caroline), Carmel, IN, Paul Godfrey (Tina), Elizabethtown, Dr. John Godfrey (Kelly), Elizabethtown, Sarah Godfrey, Cincinnati, Lee Ann Galvin (Mark), Elizabethtown, and Stephen Godfrey, Elizabethtown. Joe and Nadyne have three children, Dr David Lee (Kelly), Columbus, IN, Meredythe Lee, Owensboro, KY and Dr. Mark Lee (Brandi), Leitchfield. Sarah's favorite pastime was keeping up with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very proud of their accomplishments and felt blessed by their contributions to society. Sarah was the oldest member of St. Joseph Church and was a life long member of the Altar Society. She was a founding member of the Leitchfield Woman's Club and served as the president in the 1955. She played bridge in the Tuesday Bridge Club for over 50 years with her good friends. She attended Western Kentucky State Teachers College in the early 30's and taught in several one room schools in Hardin County as well as Rineyville School and Elizabethtown Grade School in 1940. Visitation was held Friday at Watson and Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield and the funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. CST, Saturday November 20, 2010 at St Joseph Church in Leitchfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph Altar Society.
