BROOKWOOD Sarah Boyd Williams, age 68, of Brookwood, died May 28, 2009, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alsy and Myrtle Boyd, her brothers, K.C. Boyd and James Boyd, and her sisters, Vonnie Boyd Smith and Mary Elizabeth Boyd.Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Williams of Brookwood; her daughters, Donna Meaney (Joey) of Cottondale and Rhonda Lauderdale (Kenny) of Bucksville; her son, Jr. Williams (Kristy) of Vance; her sister, Nancy Snider (Carol) of Coaling; her brothers, A.V. Boyd (Helen) of Vance, J.P. Boyd of Coaling, and Dub Boyd (Brenda) of Coaling; and her grandchildren, Corey, Austin, and Michael Meaney, and Abby and Max Williams.Her heart was aching, so God called her home. She was a devoted wife for 46 years and a loving mother. Her greatest accomplishment was being "Ma-maw" to her five grandchildren and best friend to her sister Nancy.Pallbearers will be Jr. Williams, Tommy Rogers, Frankie Smith, Kenny Boyd, Randy Crawford, and Mark Williams.Honorary pallbearers are friends and family of Brookwood community, nurses and staff of Hospice of West Alabama, and special friends Oddie and Kat Williams and Coonie Williams.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
