Sara Johnson John Sara Johnson John, 88, who retired as an administrator for the Department of Transportation, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in Tallahassee. She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Forrest John. The service will be at 2 p.m. EDT today, August 21, at First Baptist Church in Quincy, Fla., with burial at Piedmont Cemetery in Calvary, Ga. The viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today before the service at the church.Bevis Funeral Home in Quincy (850-627-1111). Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church P.O. Box 70 Quincy, FL 32353. Sara was a native of Gadsden County, and returned there in 1969 from Brunswick, Ga. She was a member of the First Baptist Church as well as the Eastern Star. She taught Sunday School for the Church, helped cook for the brotherhood, and worked with youth groups.Other survivors include three children, Marvin W. Moore (wife Debbie) of Winter Park, Marie Tretter (husband Ray) of St. Louis, Mo., and Sandra M. Harper (husband Jerry) of St. Simons Island, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Norene Moore of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Jennifer H. West of St. Simons Island, Neil J. Powell of St. Louis, Debra Lee of Tallahassee, and Terry Blanchard of Tallahassee; one niece, Bonnie Watson of Pensacola; and several great-grandchildren.Sara was preceded in death by her son, Carroll L. Moore; and two husbands, Clayton Moore; and Bob Freeman.
