<!-- FH = Bevis Funeral Home of Tallahassee, -->Sara Elizabeth Thomas HorneSara Elizabeth Thomas Horne passed away December 2, 2012 in Tallahassee. Born in Metcalfe, Georgia where she grew up and was lifetime friends with her husband who she married September 4, 1946. She went to Bessie Tift College, a Baptist College in Forsyth, Ga., then to Florida College for Women (FSU). She worked at FSU's University School (Florida High) for 20 years in the Guidance Office where she worked with many students who remembered her well no matter the circumstance of the reason they were there.She was a founder in 1990 of Theater Ala Carte, a musical theater which has now flourished for 22 years. She was recognized as a 50 year member of First Baptist Church, where she was an active member in the choir and in later years in the Seniors Joy Choir. She most recently went to Chattanooga, TN on a choir trip with the Joy Choir.Their singing was brought to many people and she thoroughly enjoyed sightseeing. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elisabeth Madelyn Horne. She is survived by her husband, Elmer T. Horne, Jr., her two children, Sally Horne Salerno and E. Thomas Horne, III; four grandkids, Sarah H. Cook, Teresa E. Salerno, Chrysonthia Horne, Aristides Horne, and one great grandson, Lucas Cook. A visitation will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 6-8pm at Bevis Funeral Home, 2710 N. Monroe Street. The service will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 10 am at First Baptist Church 108 West College Avenue. There will be a burial service at Horne Family Cemetery in Metcalf on Thursday, December 6.
