->MILLINOCKET - Sara F. (Ouellet) Morrison, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. Sara was born June 6, 1934 to Ralph and Hazel (Field) Ouellet.Sara grew up in Millinocket and attended St. Martin of Tours Parochial School and graduated from Stearns High School on June 13, 1951. She was a member of the choir at St. Martin's and participated in the chorus and Glee Club at Stearns High School where she attended the New England Music Festival. Sara was highly sought after to sing at local weddings and church celebrations because of her beautiful voice. She married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Donald C. Morrison, on July 27, 1951, in Millinocket. They were happily married for 62 years. She was the most beloved wife, mother and grandmother and was known for her soft-spoken, kind words and loving nature. Sara was a devoted member of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish. She enjoyed singing, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, sewing and playing her nightly card games with her husband. The most precious of times were spent with her family at their camp on Ambajejus Lake. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and kind demeanor that won the hearts of all that were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence. Sara was a woman of deep faith and the heart of the Morrison family. She was caring and beautiful both on the inside and out, and although but small in stature her spirit was that of a giant.Sara was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Hazel Ouellet Morrison; her brother, Ralph Ouellet; two sisters, Estelle Beninati and Cora Willette. Sara leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband, Donald Morrison; five children and their spouses, Deborah and Arnold Boynton, Rhonda and Galen Illingworth, Susan and Ronald Preo, Donald and Mary Morrison, and Karen and Ricky Boucher; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Nicole, Sara, Amber and Shannon, Micah and Shelley, Audra and Daniel, Alysha and Josh, Amanda, Katie, Deanna and Seth, and Crystal and Joseph; 16 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Cullen, Reannah, Nathan, Benjamin, Emily, Kaleb, Leah, Nicholas, Trevor, Autumn, Annika, Ariella, Carter, Renee, and Sophie; brothers-in-law and wives, Daniel and Phillipa Morrison and David and Betty Morrison; sister-in-law, Daphine Allen; a special cousin, Arvilla Usher and many nieces and nephews. The family of Sara Morrison would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the amazing staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their exceptional care given to our loved one.Friends may visit with the family Friday, January 31, from 3-5 p.m. at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Donations in Sara's memory may be made to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
