Jacksonville - Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Evelyn Maddox, 86, will be Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Cummings and the Rev. James Owen officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5-7 p.m. Mrs. Maddox went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Birditt and her husband, Stanley, of Jacksonville; her son, Ronnie Maddox and his wife, Myra, of Jacksonville; three sisters, Willie Cooper, of Jacksonville, Jewell Aldridge and Ruth Maddox, both of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Kenneth Maddox, Scott Maddox, Ashley Maddox and Adam Maddox; one great- granddaughter, Kayleigh Maddox; and one great-grandson, Michael Harden. Pallbearers will be Adam Maddox, Donald Henderson, Gary Maddox, Scott Maddox, Jimmy Trantham, Chris Patterson, Joey Patterson and Rodney Patterson. Mrs. Maddox was a member of Profile Baptist Church in Jacksonville and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She retired from JSU where she worked in housekeeping. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Maddox; her parents, John and Bertha Lockridge; one sister, Bessie Henderson; and a great- grandson, Joshua Maddox.
