Sara Elizabeth Williams SPARTANBURG, SC-- Sara Elizabeth Williams, 90, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at White Oak Estates. Born August 8, 1922, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Gertrude Gladney Holmes. Mrs. Williams served her community as a medical secretary at Spartanburg General Hospital and as a homemaker. She was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church and a member of the choir. Her late husband of 51 years, Ralph Prince Williams served in the U. S. Army during World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts. Surviving are two daughters, Trudy Williams Snite of Spartanburg, SC, and Peggy Williams Walton of Hilton Head Island, SC; two grandchildren, Heather Snite Pickens and husband Robert Olin Pickens, IV of Spartanburg, SC, and Sara Margaret Walton of Hilton Head Island, SC; one great-grandchild, Robert Olin Pickens, V; and a first cousin, Robert Allen of Gastonia, NC. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, by the Rev. Perry Evatt. Memorials may be made to Pacolet United Methodist Church, PO Box 427, Pacolet, SC 29372. The family is at their respective homes.
