Sara Culbertson Davis, 78, widow of Robert L. Davis Jr., of Route 4, Bethel Baptist Church Road, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at National Health Care. Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late William Bascomb and Nellie Martin Culbertson. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Watts Plant, and was a member of Laurens Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by three sons, Thomas William Lynch and wife Luci, of Destin, Fla., Robert Lewis "Bobby" Davis III and wife Janis, of Laurens, and Michael Tyrone Davis and wife Corrine, of Charleston; three daughters, Gladys Lucille Jones and husband Joseph, of Henderson, N.C., Sara D. "Sally" Jones and husband Bill, of Jacksonville, Fla., and WyLynda Davis Kitchens and husband Kelly, of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, William Culbertson of Laurens and Marcus Culbertson of Hickory Tavern; three sisters, Ruby Moore of Waterloo, and Dorothy Sisk and Bonita Ziegenfuss, both of Laurens; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Viola Hendrix and Jean Vaughn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Jones, with burial at Bethlehem Cemetery in Coronaca. Pallbearers will be Wendell Culbertson, Eddie Stone, Lee Vaughn, Joey Sisk, Phillip Sisk, John Sisk and Steven Ziegenfuss. The family will be at the home of a son: Bobby Davis, 300 Lynn Ave., and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. - Kennedy Mortuary is in charge.
