Sara Alice McManus King, 81, of 119 Wells Ave., wife of Luther M. King, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Wesley Commons Health Care Center. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late John Nick and Lola Norman McManus. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Mason Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred N. McManus and J. Frank McManus. Surviving are her husband, of the home; a daughter, Sara Norman King Johnson of North Augusta, and a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Carol and Joseph K. Orr IV of Atlanta, Ga.; a niece, Annette McManus Hemingway, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a nephew, Robert McManus, of Lake City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kelly J. Boyd and King Johnson, both of North Augusta, Kyle Orr and Jake Orr, both of Atlanta; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Main Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Jenkins and the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be King Johnson, Jake Orr, Wayne Rogers, Shannon Boyd, Bruce Higgingbotham, Fred Alewine, Jimmy Young, Sammy Ouzts, Charles Johnson and Buddy Rollins. Honorary escort will be members of the Mason Sunday School Class of Main Street United Methodist Church.
