Sandra Pearl Boykin Smith, 62, Edgewater, a private law paralegal, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center, Edgewater. Ms. Smith was born in Raleigh, N.C. and moved to the local area six years ago from Winter Springs. She enjoyed gardening, nature, boating, swimming and music; especially playing the piano and organ, and loved cats. Survivors include her mother, Eula Pearl O'Neal, Smithfield, N.C.; one brother, Jimmy Boykin, Wendell, N.C.; and two nieces, Jennifer Boykin, of Wendell, and Barbie Alligood, of Raleigh. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (today), July 14 at the Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, with Rev. Mark Spivey, Chaplain, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, officiating. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the service time on Tuesday at Dudley Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32129.
