Sandra Jean Smith, 72, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on September 10 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born in Syracuse and lived in the area for more than 40 years before moving to Florida. Some of her fondest memories were working at Hullar's Restaurant in Fayetteville and several years with the Chittenango School District. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Edith Smith of Manlius; brother, James Smith and sister, Bonnie Kolodziejczyk. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Smith; sister, Marilynn Dahl; three sons, Raymond (Sheryl) Miller of Chittenango, Paul (Beth) Smith of Bridgeport and Charles (Christine) Smith of Binghamton and five daughters, residing in Florida, Dawn Steinberg (Glen), Vickie, Paula, Jamie (Jeff) Sneden and Melanie (Roberto) Torres. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 14 (soon to be 15) great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private service in Florida at a later date.
