Sandra G. SmithFormerly of BinghamtonSandra G. Smith, 63, passed away on March 4, 2003 at the First Health Moore Regional Hospital of Pinehurst, N.C. She was born in Binghamton on October 27, 1939, the daughter of John J. and Eleanor J. (Riley) Gormly. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved son, Kevin J. Smith.She held a variety of secretarial positions over the years, including at Security Mutual and NYSEG. She retired from Binghamton University in 1995, after 25 years of service. She was a former member of the National Secretaries Association, and was a former president of the Binghamton Jayncees. The family moved to Seven Lakes, N.C. in 1998. She enjoyed playing golf and reading. Sandra was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald B. Smith, Seven Lakes; sister, Jeanne E. Baxter; and brothers, Richard F. Gormly and John L. Gormly, all of Binghamton.A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church of Binghamton, Pastor Chip Northrup officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3131 Wrightsville Ave., Wilmington, N.C., 28403.
