Samuel D. Henry 1965-2010 GUILFORD Samuel Dean, "Sam" Henry, 45, of Sweet Pond Road, passed on unexpectedly Monday morning, June 28, 2010 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.Sam was born in Brattleboro on February 1, 1965, the son of Robert and Irene (Squires) Henry. Following the death of his father when he was six months old, his mother married Richard K. Fisher who raised him and became his beloved father. He grew up in Guilford attending school in Guilford and was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1983.Following high school he went to work as a carpenter for his late uncle, Lyndon Squires, and later established a business partnership with Philip Baker forming Baker Henry Builders. He was immaculate in his trade and was known for his excellent work ethic.Sam was a faithful and devoted husband and loving father, son and brother. A true family man, he cherished time shared with his two children that included hiking, biking, boating, ice fishing and other outdoor activities.Of his other pastimes and interests, he loved hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and growing flowers and plants. He was gifted with a "green thumb."Sam was also known for his spirit of generosity always willing to help anyone in need. He had a smile that would light up a room.On May 24, 2002, in Guilford he was married to Tara Cutting who survives.Besides his loving wife he leaves his two children, Jaida Pearl and Trevor Leon both at home; his mother, Irene Fisher, of Guilford; two brothers, Robert J. Henry of Dummerston and Thomas P. Henry of Guilford; one sister, Sandra A. Garland, of Guilford.Additionally he is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a large host of friends.He was predeceased by his father, Richard Fisher, who died in July of 2008.FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services in celebration of his life will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Guilford Community Church with rev. Lise Sparrow, pastor, officiating.
