Sammy Lee Williams WASHINGTON, DC- Sammy Lee Williams, known as "Sam" by family and friends, departed this life in his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the age of 58. Sammy was born September 22, 1955 to the late Mr. Willie Lee and Mrs. Jannie Mae Williams. Sam lived most of his life in Washington, DC, but was born in South Carolina where he attended school. Mr. Williams attended Higher Praise Church in Washington, DC. Sam was employed over the years with Launch Coast Services and Potomac Maryland Power Plant. A very devoted son, Sam temporarily moved back to South Carolina to care for his mother during her illness. Upon her death he returned to Washington, DC. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: his sons, Serdrick Williams of Washington, DC, and ReShaud (Crystal) Williams of South Carolina; daughters, LaWanda Williams and Sarmadah Williams of South Carolina, Kesha Williams of Baltimore, MD and Saprane Williams of Capital Heights, MD; brothers, Willie James of Washington, DC, and Dale L. Williams of Capital Heights, MD; sister, Donna Coleman Williams of Washington, DC; sisters-in-law, Debbie Fair and Andrea Williams; seven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, loving cousins and other relatives and dear friends. A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Sammy Lee Williams will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 12:00 Noon, at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate.
