Sally Thompson, formerly of Braintree, died on September 19, 2013, in Florence, Italy. She was the beloved sister of Bonnie DeVito of Cohasset, and her late brother Glenn Thompson of Garfield, KS. Sally was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Thompson of Braintree and Simsbury, CT. She was a popular scholar, athlete and cheerleader at Braintree High School and she served as Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls in Braintree. She was a graduate of Smith College and a researcher for the Encyclopedia Britannica. She lived and worked for many years in Florence, Italy for the Domani Shoe Company and as head translator for Alitalia Airlines. She leaves her sons Gianluca Marchi of Taunton and Glenn Marchi of Fiesole, Italy. She also leaves her Aunt Jeanne Fisher of Nahant, nieces Robin Sile and Lauren Greeley and nephews Kevin and David DeVito. She had many dear friends throughout her life that she always stayed very close with, despite living much of her life in Italy. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, Novemeber 23, 2013 at St. James Church in Florence, Italy.
