Sally Louise (Short) Mitchell Sally Louise (Short) Mitchell, 88, passed away March 20, 2007, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. She was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Crane, Mo., where she lived most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mitchell; her parents, Ab and Amelia (Clevenhagen) Short; two brothers, Harold and Willis Short; and one sister, Virginia Wysong. She is survived by one daughter, Dyane Houser and her husband, Charles, of Crane; and three great-nephews, Scott, Carlisle and Bill Wysong. She was a graduate of Crane High School. She was able, in later years, to attend Drury College, where she graduated with a B.A. in 1966 and M.E. in 1968. She taught in the Springfield Public School system for 25 years. Graveside services will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery on Thursday, March 22 at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to LUC Boys' Ranch, 296 Boys Ranch Road, Lampe, MO 65681; or the Aurora United Methodist Church.
