ObituarySally A. Smith, 51, of Ft. Myers, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2003. She was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Edward H. Whitmer and Dawn Elliott Whitmer. She was a graduate of Bard College. Sally was a Realtor with Loffreno Real Estate on Ft. Myers Beach and a member of the Women's Council of Realtors. Sally was the past President of the International Right of Way Assoc., she served as a Commissioner for the Ft. Myers Beach Fire Control Dist., for 6 years and was recently elected as a Commissioner for the Iona-McGregor Fire Control Dist. She was the past President of the Canadian Petroleum Landmans Assoc., and served on the Canadian Oil & Gas Law Project Committee. She was an Instructor at Mt. Royal College in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is survived by her father, Edward Whitmer and Helen Whitmer, Finleyville, PA., her mother, Dawn Whitmer, Ft. Myers Beach; a son, Jason Koehler, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; a sister, Dyan W. Jenkins, and a brother, Edward (Elizabeth) Whitmer, all of Ft. Myers Beach; a niece, Dawn Myers (Arvind) Kamal, a great-niece, Jasmyn Kamal and two great-nephews, Navahn and Alexander Kamal, all of Novi, Mich; along with her dear friends John & Cynthia Shafer, Ft. Myers. In addition to her family, Sally leaves behind her good friends, Jeff Maples, Jim Brantley, Alex Nicodemi of Ft. Myers and her many friends and surrogate family at Loffreno Real Estate. A memorial service will be celebrated on Monday, 1/27/03, at 2:00 PM, at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any memorial contributions in Sally's name be sent to, or dropped at, Loffreno Reality, 2100 Estero Blvd., Ft. Myers Beach, FL 33931.
