SHEILA A. WHITE WILLISTON - Sheila A. (Miller) White passed away on June 1, after a courageous battle with melanoma. She spent her last few weeks at home, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Sheila was born in Burlington on May 24, 1940, to Alyce and Allan Miller. She grew up and attended school in Shelburne and earned an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene from UVM. She married Roger A. White on April 9, 1960. They lived and worked in Burlington until moving to Williston in 1998. Sheila was an extremely talented artist, taking each form to its highest level. She first pursued stenciling and oil painting. This was followed by quilting and opening the Ethan Allen Quilt Shop. She then turned her talents to tole and decorative painting, and has left many beautiful pieces to remember her by. She also taught others to paint and enjoyed her classes with the "girls". She traveled with her friends, enjoying seminars and belonged to the Green Mountain Decorative Painters. She also enjoyed rug hooking and belonged to the Green Mountain Rug Hookers. Sheila is survived by her son, Derick and his wife, Deb, of South Burlington; her daughter, Melanie Cameron of Fort Myers, Fla.; and her son, Tim of Guilford. She leaves four grandchildren, Nick, Adam, Colton and Kasey; and her grand dog, Maggie. She is also survived by her brother, Shel Miller; and her sister, Loreli Miller, and her sister in-law, Helen White. Besides her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Roger; and her brother, Brad Miller. Her family wishes to thank her friends for their love and support during Sheila's illness. All of the cards, flowers, food and visits were of great comfort to all of us. There will be a celebration of Sheila's life at the First Congregational Church of Burlington on Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. A private burial will take place later in the day. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to VNA Hospice Program at 1110 Prim Road in Colchester, VT. Arrangements are in the care of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 South Union Street, Burlington, Vt.
