1SG Darlene Elizabeth Cox, US Army, Retired, 65, died Friday, December 17, 2010 in Anniston. Ms. Cox is survived by her daughter, Candy Tipper, of Ohatchee; two grandchildren, Morgan Tipper Clements and her husband, Michael, of Jacksonville and Arthur Victor Tipper II, of Ohatchee; one great- grandchild, Travis Ridge Clements, of Jacksonville; and two best friends, Dorothy Bingham and Judy Terry. Ms. Cox was retired from the US Army after 20 years of dedicated service. She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Women's Army Corps Veteran's Association Heritage Chapter 62 and the American Legion Post 57. Ms. Cox was an avid supporter of the League of Animal Welfare and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Cox.
