Ruth Tweedie, RN MIRAMICHI, NB - The death of Ruth Vivian Tweedie, retired RN widow of Hugh Gordon Tweedie of Miramichi and formerly of Sunny Corner, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the age of 76. Born in Sunny Corner, NB, Ruth was the daughter of the late Edward and Roberta (Matchett) Stewart. Ruth was a Retired RN from the Miramichi Hospital, member of the Retired Nurses and Nurses Alumni and attended St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner, NB. Ruth is survived by three daughters, Pamela Suzanne McEachern (Thomas) of Ferry Road, NB, Charlene Frances Shaddick (Glenn) of Sunny Corner, NB and Jocelyn Elizabeth MacCallum (John) of Nelson, Miramchi, NB; one son, Hal Gordon (Kelly) of Mission, BC; two sisters, Elizabeth Dunnett (Weldon) of Whitneyville, NB and Lynn Hogan (Louis) of South Esk, NB; four brothers, Edwin (Eleanor) of Thunder Bay, ON, Carman (Mary Agnes) of Nordin, NB, Hayward (Thelma) of Fredericton, NB and Byron (Catherine) of Sunny Corner, NB; 11 grandchildren, Ben, Jeremy, T.J, Vanessa, Colby Tweedie, Michael and Marley McEachern, Leslie and Matthew Gallant, Hillary and Julianne MacCallum and 4 great grandchildren, Jesse, Jake, Cole and Aaron and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband and one brother Frank. Visitation will be held at Bell's Funeral Home this evening from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2 PM with Rev. Gillis Smith officiating assisted by: Pastor Gary Porter. Burial will take place in the Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery, Boom Road later in the spring. In Ruth's memory, a donation may be made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Digital Mammogram; Boom Road Presbyterian Cemetery or a memorial of ones choice.
