Obituary of Ruth Martin


MARTIN, Ruth Crook, 88, of Sun City Center, Fla., and formerly of Englewood, Ohio, passed away October 4, 2006. She was employed by General Motors, in Dayton, Ohio for 30 years until she retired with her husband and moved to Florida. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, Fla. and an active member of the Methodist church all her life. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine, (L.O.S.) and was active with her husband's social functions in the Masons, Shriners, Kiwanis, General Motors's Retiree's Club and Sun City Homeowners Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Crook; and two sisters, Velma Johnson and Gracie Lee. Survivors include her husband, Frank V. Martin; and five nephews, Roy Crook Jr. Russell Crook, John Crook, Kenny Johnson, Richard Lee and their families. She will be sadly missed by her husband, his brothers, sisters and their families. The family will receive friends, 2-4 p.m., Sunday October 8, 2006, at the Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fla. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2006, at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. West, Sun City Center, Fla. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
