Obituary of Ruth-M. -Wooley Smith


Services for Mrs. Ruth M. Wooley Smith 83 will be at 1:00 PM Thursday May 13 2004 at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel with Rev. Mark McSwain officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Smith died Monday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born March 25 1921 in Autauga County Alabama the daughter of the late Manuel and Dolly Monfee. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bemis and a member of the Gleaner Sunday School Class. She retired from the Bemis Cotton Mill after thirty eight years of service. She is survived by a daughter Terry Hardwick Mac of Jackson; a sister Alberta Kinney of Millbrook AL; grandchildren Scott Heidelberg Missy Spence Heidelberg Shea Cooper Monte and Mac Hardwick Jr. Sara; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husbands James Terry Wooley and Jack Smith; a special friend James Evans; sisters Valine Kelly Verna Monfee and Mary Etta Henderson and brothers Bozie Monfee and Lew Monfee. Pallbearers to serve are Scott Heidelberg Spence Heidelberg Bill Heidelberg Neal Wright David Neal Wright Monte Cooper Jr. and Mac Hardwick Jr. The family will receive friends today at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel 731-427-5555
