SMITH Ruth M. Smith, age 84, of Fairfield, died on Sunday, March 2, 2003, at St. Vincent s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport, she was a lifelong Fairfield resident. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Jennings. She was the widow of Harry F. Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Helen Lee Chizmadia and her husband, Frank, of Easton; and one son, Robert F. Smith of Orlando, Fla. She was predeceased by one daughter, Elsie M. Vezina. She is survived by one sister, Helen Letsch of Fairfield; and seven grandchildren, Raymond Vezina, James Vezina, Lisa Hansen, Kimberly Porcu, William Chizmadia, Robert Smith and Kate Mucherino; and seven great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield. Interment Oaklawn Cemetery.
