Funeral services for Ruth Lowrance Johnson" 88" will be at 1:00 P.M." Wednesday" January 10" 2007" at the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Drs. Herbert Higdon and Elzie Danley officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Malesus" TN. Mrs. Johnson passed away Sunday" January 7" 2007" at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was born May 25" 1918" around Dixon" Tennessee" to the late Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Lowrance. At a young age" she moved to Jackson" Tennessee" and graduated from Malesus High School. She served as Secretary and Treasurer for Malesus Ebenezer Cemetery Board of Trustees for 57 years" and held numerous positions within the local community. She was an active member of Malesus Baptist Church" where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She lived her life as a testament to the Lord" and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by her family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents" and one brother Vernon H. Lowrance. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 70 years" Arthur D. Johnson" Sr.; one son" Arthur D. Johnson" Jr. and wife Sarah of Malesus" and daughter" Elizabeth Anne Bailey and husband Wilbur of Jackson; four grandchildren" Mitzi Kirk and husband Larry of Jackson" Arthur D. Johnson" III and wife Christy of Medon" Mike Bailey and wife Jenny of Jackson" and Jill Johnson of Lexington" KY; and three great-grandchildren" Drew Johnson" Connor Kirk" and Bailey Kirk.
