Obituary of Ruth-Lee Smith


Funeral services for Ruth Lee Smith 90 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 10 2005 at Bodkin Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Edward Harris and Elder Ray Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Mrs. Smith a homemaker died Thursday July 7 2005 at her residence. She was born October 24 1914 in Decatur County Tennessee daughter of the late Sally White and William Wesley Sykes. She is survived by her son Charles Robert Smith and wife Ginger of Milan TN; daughters Margie L. Gilley and Gail Nelson and husband David both of Atwood TN; sisters Mae Harris Gatlin of Nashville TN Maxine Stewart of Memphis TN Edna Wolforth of Mississisppi and Jimmie Belza of Mayfield KY seven grandchildren nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Smith brothers Aaron Sykes and Bill Sykes and sisters Hedy Volner and Georgia Nolan. Pallbearers to serve are Stan Belza Charles Wolforth Jimmy Stewart Stephen Lee Gilley Jr. Curtis Thompson and Terry Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers are Hester Tidwell and Raymond Volner. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of West Tennessee. Visitation will be held Saturday June 9 2005 after 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Bodkin Funeral Home 731-686-3111
