Obituary of Ruth-L. Moore


Monroe, Mich. Ruth L. Moore, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 4:30 a.m. in Mercy Memorial Hospital Monroe. She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Louis Pitt and Evelyn (Little) Pitt. She married Gordon Moore on Sept. 13, 1936, and they were married for 63 years. He preceded her in death July 19, 1999.She was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible and playing parchese.She is survived by a son, Roy (Edna) Moore of Monroe; two daughters, Sharon (Jimmy) Hill of Trinity and Theresa (Ray) Leathery of Monroe; three sisters, Edna (Herman) Hardin of Falkville, Kathleen (Neal) Darnell of Decatur and Freda (Wayne) Stanford of Elkmont; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-sgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her brother. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Monroe location of BennettProchnow Funeral Home. The body will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Hill, Jason Hill, Chad Hill, Rick Moore, Rusty Moore and Ryan Moore.
