Gray, Ruth L. Dec. 7, 1923 - Dec. 4, 2014 Ruth Lee Gray, 90, passed away on December 4, 2014 at her home in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on December 7, 1923 in Cumberland, MD to 'Curley' and Grace Leamy. She moved to Syracuse at a young age. Ruth graduated from Valley High School, Syracuse, NY in 1942. Ruth married Harry 'Bud' Gray in 1945 and they raised their four children in homes on Bennington Road and Monticello Road. She worked in the cafeteria at the McKinley School for many years. After her husband's death in 1984, Ruth moved to Sarasota, Florida and returned to the Syracuse area summers. She enjoyed traveling the world, warm days on Siesta Key Beach, playing cards with friends and bingo. Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Joyce McLaughlin (James) of Liverpool, NY and Janis Smyly of Key Largo, Florida; her son, Jeff Gray of Sarasota, Florida; her grandchildren, Eric Ellis (Christy) and Cassia Ellis and great-grandchildren, Amon and Jillian Ellis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and later, her companion, Walter Rewiuk and her daughter, Lorraine. A celebration of life will be held sometime during the week after Christmas.
