Ruth I. (Simmons) Macdonald, age 82, of Bridgewater, died peacefully, Dec. 2, 2013, at her home. Ruth was born, raised and educated in Brockton, daughter of the late James C. and Irene P. (Conefrey) Simmons. She had been employed by Max Wind Shoe Company, South Weymouth Savings Bank, and retired at the age of 76 from the Bridgewater Senior Center. Ruth was a strong willed, loving and caring woman who enjoyed raising her grand and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Lorrie J. Wood; three grandchildren Shawn Lawson, Kendra-Leigh Silva and Ashley Silva; two great-grandchildren Kenny G. Cherenfant, Jr. and Serenity I. Cherenfant; three brothers Wesley E., Raymond C. and Paul H. Simmons and his wife Helen and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, private family services will be held.
