Ruth H. Slater of Johnson CityRuth H. Slater, 83, went to be with her Lord, Friday, January 4, 2002 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Slater and Marie Crozier; and one close friend, Edith Matthewson. She is survived by her dear friend, Rev. Lois Sutton. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kirkwood. She retired from Mc Farland-Johnson Engineering after many years of service. Funeral and committal services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Tower of Memories. The Rev. Cindy Wenzinger will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broome County Cancer Society, 57 Front St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. Arrangements are by the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc.
