Ruth E. Age 88, formerly of Athens, PA died Friday, July 6, 2001 at the Elcor Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born November 28, 1912 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Harry and Belle Madigan Park. She was an employee of the Eclipse-Ingersoll Rand and was retired from Sylvania. She was an excellent cook and loved baking pies for family and friends. She was a fifty (50) year member of the Athens United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Ellen Churchman; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Joyce Park and Frank and Lela Park, all of Waverly, NY. Also a brother, James Park of Kokomo, IN; a sister, Ida Crandall of Binghamton, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia and Dewey Agler of Napaleon, OH and June and Raymond Malonski of Chemung, NY; a grandson, Mark CHurchman of Elmira and granddaughter, Rae Ann (Ray) Windsor of Laguna Niguel, CA; great-grandson, Brett Churchman of Elmira, NY and great-granddaughters, Alexandra Churchman of Elmira, NY and Katherine and Janelle Windsor of Laguna Niguel, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Stroud was predeceased by her husband, Richard Stroud; her brothers, Wilbur, Robert, Richard, Walter, Harry and Herbert Park; and a sister, Mariam Park. Family and friends may call Monday, July 9, 2001 from 12:00 Noon til 2:00 PM at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main St., Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow there at 2:00 PM with Rev. Donald Anderson, her Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
