Ruth E. Smith, 80, Sarasota, died Jan. 19, 2004. She was born May 10, 1923, in Russell County, Ky., and came to Sarasota 13 years ago from Louisville, Ky. She retired from retail sales and was a member of New Vision Church of God. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila A. Dinwoodie of Sarasota; a sister, Lois of Indianapolis; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Palms Funeral Home.
