RUTH E. SMITH OGDEN DUNES, IN MEMORIAL SERVICE Ruth E. Smith, 94, longtime resident of Ogden Dunes, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Wellington Terrace at Hershey's Mill in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late Austin E. Smith, M.D. Born in Yonkers, NY, Ruth was the daughter of the late Frederick and Caroline Fischer. Ruth was affiliated with the Ogden Dunes Community Church in Ogden Dunes and the Hyde Park Union Church in Chicago, IL. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a multi-talented artist, golfer and avid reader. She also enjoyed music and played the piano by ear. Mrs. Smith is survived by son, Craig L. Smith, and his wife Judy, of Exton, PA; grandchildren: Scott Smith of Wayne, PA and Laurie Brown, her husband John, and their son Jack, of Coatesville, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Frederick Fischer, Henry Fischer, Lena Petersen, Martha Greig, Olga Curtis and Elsie Holze. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Ogden Dunes Community Church, 116 Hillcrest Road in Ogden Dunes.
