She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph A. MacDonald in 1999, a daughter, Anna Persaud (Sam) in 2003 and a brother, Charles Palmer. Ruth was a graduate of the Fredericton Provincial Normal School in 1936. Her thirty years of teaching included schools at Hainesville, Hawkins Corner, Millville and Oromocto. A legacy of memories has been created by her devotion to all of her students and friends. Many of those have continued throughout her life to call on her for Millville community history. We remember also her talent for music, teaching, school performances at Christmas, graduations, weddings and entertaining in her own home. While living in Millville Ruth was involved in community activities. She was member of the Home and School Association, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Women's Missionary Society. Ruth and her husband Ralph enjoyed traveling after retirement. They traveled extensively across Canada and United States and enjoyed many weekend trips in their own Province of New Brunswick.
