Ruth Coffey SmithFalkvilleFuneral service for Ruth Coffey Smith, 89, of Falkville will be Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Ashley and the Rev. Michael Mason officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith, who passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at Parkway Medical Center, was born August 23, 1922, in Lawrence County to Willie Walton Coffey and Ada Lou Carroll Coffey. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Smith; and daughter, Charlotte Brett.Survivors include two sons, Anthony Smith and Keith Smith (Marsha), both of Falkville; three sisters, Pauline Smith and Elizabeth Fielding, both of Decatur, and Doris Ferguson of Birmingham; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Bill Dobbs, Hal Chaney, B.J. Franks, Bobby Rhodes and Wathan Fielding.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley.
