Obituary of Ruth-Christina Johnson


JOHNSON Ruth Christina Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 5, 2003. She was born December 31, 1918 in Granite City, IL and had resided in Jacksonville since 1956. She was a proud Navy wife, having lived in several states and in Japan. She was also very proud of the fact that in the late 1960s she became a LPN, specializing in the loving care of the elderly. Ruth attended East Pointe Baptist Church, Rev. Daniel S. Pride, Pastor. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Robert R. Johnson and their son, Ellis A. (Jane) Johnson, Sr.; 2 granddaughters, Janet (Dan) Disch & Candy (Thomas) Laubach; 4 grandsons, Robert J., David A., and Ellis A. Johnson, Jr. & Charlie (Jayne) Bell; 3 great granddaughters, Chandler, Erica & Virginia Disch; 8 great grandsons, Derek, Austin, Taylor, Austin, & Jacob Johnson, Billy & Ryan Laubach and Jared Bell. There are many nieces, nephews and cousins surviving in Illinois. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 9 at Beaches Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Jack Dinsbeer, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday, October 9, at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd. Please sign the Guestbook at Jacksonville.com
