Ruth Bevan Fielder Ware passed away Sept. 5, 2012, in Heath Village, Hackettstown, N.J., where she had retired in 1996 with her late husband, John Smith Ware III. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Heath Village, 430 Schooleys Mountain Road, Hackettstown, N.J. 07840. Ruth and John had been longtime residents of Short Hills, N.J., and members of Wyoming Presbyterian Church and later Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown. Ruth was born April 7, 1920, to Edwin W. Fielder Jr. and Edith Buy Fielder, and grew up in Maplewood, N.J., meeting John and marrying him in 1942. They lived in Hagerstown, Md., during the war and then moved back to New Jersey, where they raised their family. Ruth worked briefly for the N.J. Symphony and in the jewelry business before following her father and grandfather into publishing, working at Silver Burdett for many years. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Patricia (wife of the late Dr. Richard Janssen), and Christine and her husband, Will Lupo, and her son, John Smith Ware IV and his wife, Lynn; loving grandsons, Ian (and wife, Michelle) and Jonathan Janssen and John Smith Ware V; great-granddaughters, Kira and Kaitlyn; many cherished nieces and nephews, and her brother-in-law Malcolm D.
