Obituary of Ruth-B. Smith


SMITH Ruth B. Smith, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2011. She was born on May 15, 1924 in Waycross, Georgia to the late Mack McQuaig and Lizzie Baldwin McQuaig. Ruth was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God. She was a Lady of faith and she is survived by her 5 children; James E. Smith, Charles B. Smith (Becky), Victor L. Smith (Mary), Linda Moore (Larry) and Martha Porter (Paul); 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; daughter-In-law, Leta Smith; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Harvey L. Smith and her son, Julian Smith. Her love for God and her family will be cherished endlessly throughout generations with her family and friends. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, February, 02, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 11:00am, February 3, 2011 at Bethel Temple Assembly of God, 8380 Devoe St., Jacksonville, FL. 32220, with Dr. Noel Roberts officiating.
