FREMONT -- Ruth F. Anderson, 71, died Sept. 8, 2008, at home after a courageous six-year battle with cancer, with her children at her side. She was born in Fremont, Nov. 12, 1936, to C. Merton and Bessie Healey. She attended Fremont Elementary and Middle Schools and graduated from Sanborn Seminary, Kingston. She and her husband owned and operated Bessie's Lunch in Fremont and Brentwood, for more than 30 years. She was always proud to say that she was a lifelong resident of Fremont. She served on the Fremont School Board for many years, was deputy tax collector for 15 years, and clerk to the board of selectman and ballot clerk for many years. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and she will always be a very special "Nana" to all of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hollis Anderson Jr., in 1994. IN HER LIFE: She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anderson of Fremont, and Lisa Chamberlain and her husband, Ian, of Hampstead; two sons, Hollis M. Anderson III and his wife, Sandra, of E. Hampstead, and Roger Anderson of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Bradley and Jeffrey Chamberlain of Hampstead, Roger and Maria Anderson of Fremont, Kevin Anderson of Seattle, Wash., and Jessica Swann of Pocahontas, Ark.; two brothers, Norman Healey of Stamford, Conn., and Oliver Healey of Ocala, Fla.; and two sisters, Jerlene Jalbert of Fremont, and Cynthia Howard of Tewksbury, Mass. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Braley of Ocala, Fla. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at People's United Methodist Church, Main Street, Fremont. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Fremont. The Rev. Dr. John Barner of Colorado Springs, Colo, will officiate. Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Make-A-Wish of NH, 814 Elm St., Suite 300, Manchester 03101-2230.
