<!-- FH = Asheville Area Alternative -->RUTH ANDERSONASHEVILLE - Ruth Anderson, 71, of Asheville passed away suddenly on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.A native of Quincy, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William "Henry" and Kathryn "Kay" Barwell. She was happily married to Rev. Dr. Richard "Dick" Anderson, the boy next door, for 45 years until his death in 2008. After raising her family, Ruth went back to college and enjoyed a 20-year career at Hasbro, Inc. She retired in 2005, and she and Dick moved to Asheville where they fell in love with the beautiful scenery and friendly people.Ruth loved to sing and was an active choir member of the First Presbyterian Church of Asheville, the Solace Center Singers at CarePartner Hospice, and the Reuter Center Singers. Her faith was very important to her and she recently became a Deacon in the church.Ruth is survived by her daughters, Robin Campbell (Dan) of Mt. Laurel, N.J., and Brenda Raposo (Tony) of Coventry, R.I.; and her grandchildren, Ryan Raposo, and Sara and Brian Campbell. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Younie of Billerica, Mass., Joan Witham (Jim) of Plymouth, Mass., and Arlene Lyons (Bill) of Marshfield, Mass.; and her brother, David Barwell of Brockton, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, November 30, at the First Presbyterian Church of Asheville.
