Ruth Alice Wallace, 75, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford, N.J., where her life celebration service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012. Interment is in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, N.J. Condolences to www.grayfuneralhomes.com. Born in Jersey City, N.J. in 1938, Ruth moved to Cranford and in 1948 and graduated from Cranford High School 1956. Ruth married her husband, Donald on June 1, 1957. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford. She was very dedicated to the church while involved in the Presbyterian Woman's Club, Couples Club and the Margaret Green Association. Ruth worked for more than 22 years for American V. Mueller- Baxter-Cardinal Health Supplies of Edison, N.J., where she worked in many positions before retiring. Ruth was a compassionate, caring, and energetic woman who enjoyed life to the fullest, never being discouraged by life's challenges. She was dedicated to her immediate and extended families. Also known by her middle name, Alice worked incredibly hard at all of his numerous endeavors. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, croching and making stuff for her grandchildren. Ruth leaves behind her husband, Donald Wallace; son, Rich Wallace and daughter-in-law, Suzanne; son, Ed Wallace and daughter-in-law, Patricia and daughter, Wendy Donnelly and son-in-law, Tony; also four grandchildren, Kelsey, Kourtney, McKenna and John.
