Russell Williams, son of Jesse and Martha, father of Linda, died. Please consult the obituary here:
WILLIAMS, Russell Roy With great sadness, we wish to announce the passing of Russell Roy Williams on May 19th, 2004. He will be lovingly remembered by his family: his daughter Linda (Dale) Busch, and his grandson, Jason Williams (Tracy Smith); his sisters, Martha Jones, Bernice Tischer and Jessie Richardson, and his sister-in-law Margaret Williams. He was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and to their children in turn. He was predeceased by his parents, Martha and Jesse Williams; his sisters, May Lock, Ella Forsythe and Georgia Muir; and his brothers, Walter and Clifford Williams. Russell dedicated his life to saving lives and helping those in need: he was always there for his family and friends, cared for his mother after the death of his father, served in the army in WWII in one of the most elite fighting units in history - The First Special Service Force a.k.a. "The Devil's Brigade" - and served for 34 years on the Edmonton Fire Department. The world is a better place because of him, and he will be grievously missed. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Cross Cancer Institute, the Leduc Community Hospital and Leduc Home Care for their kindness in caring for Russell over the past two years. Friends who so wish may make donations in Russell's memory to the Cross Cancer Institute. Cremation has already taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Howard & McBride Westlawn Chapel, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton.
