ObituaryRussell "Red" Carter, 78, of Lakeland, passed away from complications of cancer on April 12, 2005.He is survived by wife Linda Cook Carter; two sons, Jimmy Carter and Kenneth Rhodes; four daughters, Linda Smith, Winnie Daugherty, Lois Jean Carter and Lynn Donahue; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Mr. Carter was born in Princeton, WV on April 26, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during WWII. He moved to Ft. Myers in 1966. He was the owner of Red Tomato Man Produce and Trucking Company. He retired in 1985 and moved to Lakeland.Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 10:00 AM from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Pentecost and Chaplain Michael McCurdy officiating.Interment will follow in Mt.
