Obituary of Ruby-Wynn Carter


SPRING GROVE, Va. - Ruby Wynn Carter formerly of Spring Grove, departed this life, Wednesday, February 19, 2003, in Waverly. Ruby was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Burrowsville. She taught at Carter G. Woodson and Arlington Elementary Schools in Hopewell. She also taught in Amelia County, South Hill, Williamsburg, Disputanta, Alaska, where she relocated as a military wife, and Augusta, Ga., school systems from which she retired. Surviving are two sisters, Hilda W. Halcomb and Juanitha W. Epps, both of Prince George, Va.; one sister-in-law, Mary F. Wynn; three brothers-in-law, Edward S. Radcliffe Sr. of Williamsburg, and John W. Halcomb of Prince George, Leory Carter of High Park, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; godchildren; other relatives and devoted friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at Morning Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Richmond National Cemetery.
