CARROLLTON Ruby Wilson Spencer Smith, age 86, of 27100 Hwy. 17 North, Carrollton, died Dec. 22, 2005, at DCH-Northport. Services will be 10 a.m. today, Dec. 24, 2005, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Sandifer officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery in Benevola Community with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service at the chapel.Her parents, husbands, Victor Spencer and Carlton Smith, son-in-law, Victor Pike, two brothers, Robert Wilson and Wallace Wilson, and two sisters, Lucille Bailey and Mary Wilson Marchant, preceded her in death.Survivors include one daughter, Betty Spencer Pike of Gordo, Ala.; two sons, William Austin "Bill" Spencer (Karen) of Grand Bay, Ala. and Joe Donald Spencer (Sheila) of Gordo, Ala.; six grandchildren, Mark, Kim and Robin Burns, Shane Spencer (Jennifer), Kellie Spencer, and Sherry Archey (Paul); 10 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1919, in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Will Wilson and Fannie Lindsey Wilson. She was a member of the North Pickens Church of Christ and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired LPN for Salem Nursing Home/Healthcare in Reform.Pallbearers will be Jimmy McDill, Mark Burns, Paul Archey, Shane Spencer, Cody Burns, and Heath Woods.Honorary pallbearers are Ellen Fair, Ruth Leonard, nursing staff at Northport DCH, ICU and 3rd Floor Volunteer Pavilion, and former employees of Salem Nursing Home.
