AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, December 6, 2009, Mrs. Ruby M. Davis of Oakland Avenue. Ruby M. Davis was born December 11, 1912 in Winfield, Appling, Georgia to the late Frank and Hattie Marshall Lewis. She was the oldest of eight children. Ruby accepted Jesus Christ in her life and was baptized at First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church by Reverend G. W. Harrison. She was a faithful member until her health failed. Ruby was married to the late L. M. Davis the year of 1927. From this union sixteen children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Mable Johnson, Shirley Davis, Miriam Davis Dunn Marson, Johnnie Mae Jennings, Virley Davis and Lucious Davis; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-six great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted (today) Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 2:00p.m. from First Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 6269 Cobbham Road, Winfield, GA, Reverend Roscoe Perry, pastor. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at 1:00p.m. until the hour of service. The funeral procession will leave the residence at 12:50p.m. W. H.
