AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Ruby Hammonds Jones, 73, of 112 Hillview Circle, entered into rest September 12, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Johnston, S.C., with Rev. Ernest Gordon officiating. The remains will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble at her residence at 1 p.m. Friends may call her residence or the funeral home after 1 p.m. today. Survivors include 1 daughter, Josephine Swindler and a step-daughter, Vanessa (Isaiah) Pixley, both of Aiken; 1 sister, Fannie Moore, Aiken; 1 brother, Clarence Brown, Jr., Buckner, N.C.; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special niece, Betty (Dennis) Laboo, Aiken; a godson, Andre Mackie, Charleston, S.C.; and a host of other relatives.
